Electric bus inducted in NMC’s transport fleet

By 2030 buses running on petrol and diesel will become outdated and hence Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has taken conscious decision to induct electric buses in its transport fleet, stated Mayor Nanda Jichkar here on Tuesday. All vehicles of civic body will switch over to CNG in time to come she further said while inducting Tejaswini buses, the electric buses, provided by Olectra-BYD. At present these buses are meant to women special to offer them comfortable ride and avoid rush in otherwise packed city buses. The programme of induction of electric buses was held at Trimurty Nagar Fire Brigade station.
 
Along side, Mayor also inaugurated Trimurty Nagar stations of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) on the occasion. Sandeep Joshi, Ruling Party Leader, NMC, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Jitendra Kukde, Chairperson, Transport Committee, Adv. Sanjaykumar Balpande, Chairperson, Fire Brigade Committee, Dilip Diwe, Chairperson, Education Committee, Prakash Bhoyar, Chairperson, Laxmi Nagar Zone, and other office bearers and corporators were present at the function. Speaking further, Mayor said Nagpur is changing fast and no corner of city is left untouched by development process that in time to come would bring more comfort in lives of citizens.
 
And this was all possible due to painstaking efforts of our leaders, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The vision of the two tall leaders has benefited the city and there is no dearth of funds that has helped to bring in several new initiatives. The induction of electric buses is going to help in combating pollution in urban centres and NMC has right taken lead to lend a helping hand for the same. Adjoining the Fire and Emergency Services station at Trimurty Nagar, NMC has built 12 quarters that would help the citizens.
