Media misinterpreted my video: Lakhma

DAY after a video clip showing Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma asking people to ‘grab the collars of District Collectors and Superintendents of Police’ to get their work done, the Minister on Tuesday put the entire onus on misinterpretation by the media. Talking to media persons at Rajiv Bhawan on Tuesday, Lakhma, who also holds Industry portfolio, said that he struggled against social injustice at grass root level and worked for the people from weaker sections.

He said that those trying to defame him won’t succeed. He said that the previous BJP Government had done nothing for promotion of industry in Chhattisgarh. Bhupesh Baghel Government is making efforts to promote industries in State. He added that food processing units that will be set up in Mungeli, Lohandiguda and other places will create employments.

Unemployed youths will be made skilled under Rajiv Gandhi training programme. Lakhma patiently heard the grievances of common people at Rajiv Bhawan. The Minister directed the officials concerned to resolve thee grievances of people. Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress (CPCC) General Secretary Mahendra Chhabra and other leaders were also present.
