A number of people are facing problem either they are forced to go into open or have to leave for home. Thus, BMC should look into this matter and open the locks so that the toilet must be in use for the public.” Suraj Bangar Suraj Bangar, says “This is completely carelessness of the department as these toilets are locked for many weeks. Even, there is similar condition of almost toilets in the city. Everywhere on the walls it is written not to ‘pee’ into open but then what is the sense of constructing these toilets if it has to be remained locked?”

Shailendra Sharma Shailendra Sharma, employee says “There are so many people who work for long and travel, sometimes they do not even find place to go to the washroom and it is hardly possible to go back to the home. Thus, if these public toilets have been constructed as general use then it should be remained open for the public. It has been more than ten days I have seen it locked. Thus, concerned department should look into this matter.”

Mostly people go in open areas which is a matter of concern in terms of health issues and environment conservation. Tara Taak Tara Taak, sanitary staff says “It is very difficult for women to go to the washroom in open and they are reluctant to do it like men. I was happy seeing these toilets constructed in the main areas but what is the use of it when these are always locked. We were more than 15 hours out of our homes so where should we go in search of washrooms.” Bimla Bimla, Sanitary staff says “We work for long hours and it is very difficult for women like us to go the washroom in public. If these toilets have been constructed for public then it should be unlocked, why it has been locked for more than weeks. I have been seeing this since last month but the authorities have not unlocked it yet.”
