Gautam Nagar cops crack blind murder case of girl in 24 hours

The accused who killed minor girl and dumped her body in a pond in custody of police on Thursday.

Gautam Nagar police on Thursday claimed to have solved blind murder case of a minor school girl whose half-naked and decomposed body was found lying in a shallow pond in Nariyalkheda on Wednesday afternoon. She was killed by her lover with a surgical blade which he purchased from a nearby medical store. According to ASP Zone 3 Manu Vyas, the identity of deceased minor girl was established as Bulbul, a resident of Pooja Colony in Karond area. She was in love affair with accused Abhishek Jaat who also hails from the same locality where deceased girl lived. On Tuesday afternoon, she left home to meet Abhishek without informing family members.
However, when girl didn’t return home till late evening her parents lodged a missing person complaint with Gautam Nagar police. On Wednesday around 2:30 pm, police received information that an unidentified body of a girl is floating in a pond in Nariyalkheda. Later, her identity was established after her parents recognised her as their daughter. Following this police have registered a case of murder and started investigation and in the further probe, they received inputs that the girl was last seen together with accused Abhishek on a Pulsar motorbike who was later arrested from Karond Chouraha based on tip-off from an informer.
When he was quizzed at length, he broke down and confessed his crime. He told police that on Tuesday he took the girl for outing in old city and later they went to Boat Club in the night. From here they went to Resham Kendra, Nariyalkheda around 11 pm. After some time when accused asked girl to leave for home, she was not willing and started crying stating that she wanted to marry with him. Even after repeated attempts when the accused couldn’t convince her, he asked girl to stay there for a while and went to a medical shop from where he purchased a surgical blade and came back.
During conversation with girl, he slit victim’s neck with blade from backside and later thrown her body into pond and fled from the spot. Now police are awaiting the autopsy report of the deceased girl as there is possibility of sexual assault with the victim before she was murdered.
