Need to aware children, parents on cyber crime: DGP

Cyber Crime Investigation and Intelligence Summit begins A three-day summit on Cyber Crime Investigation and Intelligence was inaugurated at Madhya Pradesh Police Academy, Bhouri, in the State capital on Thursday. DGP Vijay Kumar Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. Objective of this summit is to check cyber crime and increase efficiency of police officers. SP to inspector level police officers of different states are participating in this summit.
 
Cyber crime investigation and intelligence summit is being organised with the co-operation of Soft Click Foundation, UNICEF and Clear Trail Communication Analytics in which the cyber crime and intelligence experts belonging to country and abroad are participating. DGP Singh said that there is need to make children as well as their parents aware to save the society from cyber crime. DGP said that there is revolutionary expansion of communication facilities because of increasing mobile phone and internet access but there are challenges like national security, economic offenses and crime against women and children. DGP Singh said such seminar would be effective to check cyber crime. He expressed hope that the IT experts will give new tips to curb cyber crime.
 
He also emphasized on organizing such seminars in other police academies. Special DG (training) Sanjay Rana said that the police officers will be given tips to check cyber crime in the programme and it will help in proving cyber crime in court. UNICEF senior representative Michael Juma said that it is a big challenge for the police that cyber bulling is affecting children and some children are also following cyber bulling but it can be checked through awareness.
 
Juma said that there is need to develop a platform for removing and blocking child pornography. Director Police Academy, Bhouri, K T Wifae delivered welcome speech in the inauguration session of three day seminar. Clear Trail organisation’s vice president Manohar Katoch and Soft Click Foundation representative Sanjay Sharma also expressed views on the occasion. Special DG Purushottam Sharma and ADG Anuradha Shankar and other police officials were also present in the inaugural session.
