Family members of deceased allege lapses in security arrangement

No sooner did the family members of youths who were drowned during immersion of Ganesh idol at Khatlapura ghat of Lower Lake came to know about the incident, they rushed to spot on Friday morning. No sooner did the bodies started to come out from Lower Lake one after another, they burst into tears.
The scene at the incident site was emotional. At the same time, some relatives of deceased were heard levelling allegations on cops by saying that why they have not prevented youths from boarding the overloaded boat. When bodies were kept in ambulances and taken to Hamidia hospital for autopsy, they followed the ambulance. Even outside the mortuary room, they waited for the bodies to come out so that they could take them for last rites.
In the meantime, politicians from both BJP and Congress parties also rushed to Hamidia Hospital to console the aggrieved family members of deceased. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met family members of deceased and consoled them. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that his heart is filled with sadness and he stands with aggrieved families.
Moreover, he told that it’s not the time of levelling allegations but Government and administration should have the knowledge of crowd turning up on the day of immersion.
Responsible persons should have exercised the alertness. Only children are not responsible for the incident. He even demanded financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for every family of every deceased.
He was accompanied by ex-minister Vishwas Sarang and MLA Krishna Gaur. Senior Cabinet minister Dr Govind Singh also went to Hamidia Hospital to see that there is no delay in autopsies and aggrieved families should not face any kind of problems. He was accompanied by fellow Cabinet minister PC Sharma. In the meantime, heavy police force was deployed outside mortuary room to deal with any kind of eventuality arising out of outburst of public anger but nothing such things
happened. However, aggrieved families could not control their emotions and pointed out towards alleged security lapses which led to accident.
