immersion of idols was held peacefully at Visarjan Kunds and ponds amidst tight security and safety arrangements, on Friday. District police was on high alert to maintain safety arrangements at bodies during idols immersion following the tragic incident of drowning 11 persons into a lake in Bhopal. Senior police and administrative officers monitored the safety and security arrangements at Visarjan Kund at Gwarighat, Tilwaraghat, Hanumantal pond, Adhartal pond and other water bodies to avoid any kind of untoward incident. Separate police teams were constituted under the supervision of Additional SPs and SDMs to maintain law and order and safety arrangements during idols immersion process.

Senior police and administrative officers conducted inspection at venues of idols immersion throughout the day and monitored the safety arrangements. Besides this, separate teams of Home Guard and Civil Defence and State Disaster Emergency Relief Force (SDRF) were deployed with motor boats and other resources for taking prompt action in case of any incident.

Following the strict safety and security arrangements, idols immersion was peacefully conducted at different water bodies. Along with the venues of idols immersion, police patrolling teams monitored the processions of Ganesh Utsava Samitis at different routes of the city to avoid traffic congestion and fluent operation of procession.
