PLASTIC MENACE
   Date :14-Sep-2019

UNION Minister Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria’s concern that lakhs of animals were dying due to plastic should become the concern of the entire country. Unless this happens there can be no respite for the country from the menace of plastic. While the Government may take whatever legal and administrative measures, this should become a people’s movement. The success of such missions largely depends on people’s wholehearted participation. That the ‘Swachha Bharat Abhiyan’ has now caught the imagination of the people highlights the importance of public participation in socially relevant missions. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day address had exhorted the people to shun single-use plastic to save the environment and is expected to announce some nation-wide programme to stop the use of plastic soon. It should be citizens’ duty to join him in this mission. By doing so they would be lending their mite to give to the future generations a cleaner environment.
