Youth suffers epilepsy attack during idol immersion, meets watery grave in pond

IN a tragic incident, a youth met with a watery grave during idol immersion at Hanumantal pond on Friday. Idol immersion was in progress at Hanumantal pond where a youth named Suraj Kashyap (24), a resident of Dheemar Mohalla in Futatal area, was working for immersion of idols by placing it on tyre-tube platform. He was sitting on stairs of the pond when he sustained epilepsy attack and he fell into the pond. Before onlookers managed to rescue him he had drowned in the pond. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead. Learning about the incident, police team reached the hospital and sent the body for post-mortem after conducting panchnama at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital. SHO of Hanumantal police station, Sanjay Singh informed that in prima facie of the incident, police learnt that the deceased was a patient of epilepsy and he drowned following an epilepsy attack. He was a good swimmer and working for idol immersion since his childhood.
