City to receive more rainfall

Low-pressure area and cyclonic circulation continuously persists over South West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South East Rajasthan are causing rains in the region. For the last few days the city has been receiving light to moderate rainfall. Recent heavy rains have filled all water bodies to capacity. And now moderate showers are adding to the water level of the water bodies and making them overflow. Likewise, insistent rainfall in the catchments area of Bargi dam has also filled the reservoir to the capacity. Dam authorities are opening gates of the reservoir according to the inflow to maintain proper water level in the reservoir. The city on Sunday received 4.4 mm rainfall.
 
Thick black clouds still hovering over the city and raining continuously. Spokesman of Meteorological department informed that low-pressure area persists over South West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South East Rajasthan with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 4.5 to 5.8 kilometre above mean sea level height. The conditions are causing rains in the region. He said the new systems developed over adjoining regions have brightened the possibilities of more rainfall. The Weatherman further informed that present conditions would persist for few more days and the city would receive more rainfall. He said rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas of the division.
 
He informed that the city has received 4.4 mm rainfall on Sunday, which has added to the total figure of the season's rainfall to 1479 mm (58.228 inches). The average rainfall of the city is 52 inches. Last year the city had received no rainfall on the day and the total rainfall figure was 1050.9 mm. The maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 30.8 degree Celsius while minimum was 24.5 degree Celsius. The relative humidity on Sunday morning was 87 per cent while in evening it was 80 percent. During last year the maximum temperature on the same day was 31.1 degree Celsius while minimum was 23.4 degree Celsius.
