The Write Circle’s 3rd session held

The third session of The Write Circle, a bouquet event of the Prabha Khaitan Foundation, was held at Hotel Hyatt, Raipur recently. Senior journalist Sandeep Bhushan was keynote speaker at the programme. The session was moderated by journalist Surabhi Singh. The session began with an introduction by Aanchal Garcha, a member of the Ehsaas Women of Raipur and a welcome note by Harkaran Singh, General Manager of Hyatt, Raipur. Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Bhushan said he has a strong connection with Chhattisgarh and recalled his visits to Korba and the long winding process of getting news from the field to the newsroom. In his book, he talks about the decline of reporting and the rise of news anchors and the happenings of the newsroom.
He also spoke about the hazards of stories on social media and the need to have gatekeepers to segregate fake and real news. “When we think of television we only think about anchors when actually the footwork is done by the reporters,” said Sandeep. Senior journalist PC Hota also addressed the session. The session ended with questions from prominent personalities from various media houses of Chhattisgarh. Dr Indira Mishra, Surabhi Singh, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee’s Communication Department Chairman Shailesh Nitin Trivedi and others attended the programme.
It may be mentioned that Prabha Khaitan Foundation is dedicated to the social, cultural and educational advancement of the society. The Kolkatta based NGO runs humanitarian projects across the country which includes women’s training centres, child literacy programmes, and aid drives. Ehsaas is an initiative of Prabha Khaitan Foundation, it is a conglomeration of women from all walks of life who are graceful in their own ways and inspire others for the betterment of the society. Ehsaas Women have their presence in a number of cities now. They with their firm local presence have proved to be a strong arm of PKF.
