No respite from rains in Madhya Pradesh, 33 pc excess rainfall in State

This monsoon season has brought good rains to State. Till date, State has received 33 per cent excess rainfall. Bhopal rainfall figure has also crossed the normal figure to reach till 81 per cent excess rainfall. Bhopal even got drenched by rains during evening hours of Monday. Weather Department said that system on northern Madhya Pradesh has weakened hence intensity of rains is going to be affected. However, there is chance of heavy rains in sporadic parts of state.
 
The forecast made by Weather Department says that extreme heavy rains are likely in isolated places of Harda, Hoshangabad, Raisen, Rajgarh and Sehore districts. Heavy rains are likely in some places of Vidisha, Tikamgarh, Khandwa, Sagar, Guna, Alirajpur, Dhar, Ashok Nagar, Dewas, Shajapur, Narsinghpur, Burhanpur, Narsinghpur and Burhanpur districts.
 
The rains and light showers are also likely in maximum places of Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Sehore, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur, Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, Rewa, Satna, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur districts etc. Rains are also likely in many places of Ujjain, Ratlam, Shajapur, Agar, Dewas, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Indore, Dhar, Khargone, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Badwani, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Sheopurkalan, Bhind, Umaria, Shahdol, Katni, Chhindwara districts. Rains likely in some places of Balaghat, Mandla, Seoni, Anuppur, Dindori, Sidhi, Singrauli, Morena districts respectively. In last twenty four hours, monsoon remained active in western parts of state. rains battered Gwalior, Ujjain, Chambal and Hoshangabad divisions. Barnawar received 9 cm rainfall followed by Gautampura (8 cm), Thandla (15 cm), Depalpur, Susner and Badnagar (6 cm rainfall each) and Sabalgarh (5 cm) etc. The continuous rainfall activities have literally thrown normal life out of gear. Excess rains have created havoc in many parts of state, disrupting the road connectivity and leaving villagers marooned. Rescue operations have to be carried out in many regions to save the lives of people. Even Army was called for rescue operations.
