Home Minister Balabachchan demanded that the Centre should release the pending amount of Madhya Pradesh immediately as floods and excess rains have done damage upto Rs 10,000 crore. Under various heads, Union Government has stopped the State’s money. Addressing the press conference at his residence, Home Minister Balabachchan said that at the time of crisis, Madhya Pradesh is not receiving the kind of support which it should get from the Centre.

He accused ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan of doing conspiracy to stop State’s share of money from Centre. Mincing no words in criticising Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s visit among flood affected people, he told that 2,000 families have been affected due to rise in back waters of Sardar Sarovar dam as Gujarat filled it before time to celebrate PM’s birthday. Going retrospective, he said that when BJP was in power both in State and Centre, then also Madhya Pradesh had not received desired help from Centre. Taking on BJP, he alleged that BJP is trying to misguide farmers. He said that Centre is yet to give State’s tax share of Rs 2,677 crores. State is yet to get Bhavantar scheme money upto Rs 117 crore.

Coming down hard on Shivraj Singh Chouhan going among flood-hit victims, he said that why not Shivraj Singh Chouhan requests Centre to release the pending money of State? Why not he is doing dharna against Centre, he should go to meet PM along with all 26 MPs from State and demand help. Talking about Gujarat filling Sardar Sarovar dam before time, he said that CM Kamal Nath has even written two to three letters to Narmada Control Authority over the issue but to no avail. He said that Kamal Nath government is taking the full care of affected persons and Chief Secretary S R Mohanty is looking after the relief measures.
