Girl arrested for blackmailing man for demand of Rs 20 lakhs

Gora Bazar police succeeded in apprehending a girl for threatening and blackmailing a man for demand of Rs 20 lakhs within some hours of the complaint was registered. The accused working as maid was inspired with Crime Patrol television serial and started blackmailing the members of appellant to earn handsome money through a shortcut. The accused has been identified as Yashoda Dhurve (27), daughter of Dayaram Dhurve, native of Aurai Raiyyat village in Bicchiya, Mandla district and currently lived behind Katiyara Theme Park, Tilahri in Gora Bazar.
 
Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh (IPS) disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Tuesday. SP, Singh informed that on September 14, a man named Sanjay Lal Katariya (45), resident of Theme Park in Tilahri lodged a written complaint that unidentified person called on mobile number of his maternal niece and father but nobody talked after receiving the call. He called on the same mobile number from mobile of his friend when he started receiving messages on another mobile number. Unidentified person introduced himself as member of Bablu Panda Gang and threatened in the name of his sister and demanded money of Rs. 20 lakhs in two days.
 
The miscreant gave him bank account number of Care Small Finance Bank Limited registered in the name of Nagesh Prabhakar Patil. Gora Bazar police registered a case under Section 386 of the IPC. Taking a serious note on the complaint, a team under the supervision of ASP (Traffic), Amrat Meena, ASP (Crime), Shivesh Singh Baghel and CSP (Cantt), Akhil Verma was constituted for investigation and apprehending the accused. Investigating the case, police identify the accused with the help of Cyber Cell and succeeded in apprehending the girl. In further investigation, police learnt that the accused was inspired with Crime Patrol television serial and planned to earn money through shortcut.
 
She has a facebook friend named Nagesh Patil, a resident of Vadodara district in Gujarat who sometimes reached Jabalpur to meet her. She trick-fully obtained a SIM card and bank account number of Nagesh and used the SIM for blackmailing the appellant Sanjay Lal’s father Tarachand and his maternal niece for demand of Rs. 20 lakhs. Accused was apprehended with active working of police team comprised of SHO of Gora Bazar, SI, Umesh Golhani, Cyber Cell’s SI, Neeraj Singh Negi, Constables, Rajesh Sharma, Upendra Gautam, Aditya Paraste, Guddu Singh, Yogesh and Woman Constables, Renuka and Lilly.
