‘Cook training programme’ at Govt Girls School, Arang

A Development block-level ‘Cook training programme’ was organised at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Arang on Wednesday. The programme was conducted on the directives of Divisional Education Officer D S Chauhan. Large number of female cook from 19 clusters which included Bhaisa, Amsena, Arang and Mandir Hasaud attended the training session. District Nodal Mid-day Meal Officer Satyadev Verma while directing the cooks to strictly follow the prescribed menu of mid-day meal, said that special attention should be given on cleanliness.
 
During the training, District Nodal Officer ABEO Dinesh Sharma gave strict directives on maintaining cleanliness in kitchen, keeping food items covered and also keeping utensils as well as self clean. He also directed to provide high protein rich soyabean badi (cakes) once in a week while providing mid-day meal to students. He also said that each school in the development block should have kitchen garden under State Government’s ‘Narwa, Gurwa, Ghurwa and Badi Scheme.
 
Later, winners of Development Block, District and State-level Cooking Competitions were announced. A video was also shown on different aspects of maintaining safety, cleanliness and cooking of mid-day meal.
