2 vehicle-lifters held with 3 bikes worth Rs 1.50L

Police have succeeded in apprehending two vehicle-lifters and a buyer and seized three stolen motorcycles worth Rs 1.50 lakh from them. The arrested accused have been identified as Pramod Thakur (22), son of Raghuveer Thakur, a resident of Piparia Imaliya village in Adhartal, Rustam Kushwaha alias Neeraj Kushwaha (19), son of Vijay Kushwaha, a resident of Imaliya Nai Basti and Sachin Lakhera (22), son of Ramnaresh Lakhera (22), a resident of Richhai in Ranjhi.
Superintendent of Police Amit Singh (IPS) informed this while addressing a press conference on Wednesday. SP Singh informed that during a special campaign against anti-social elements, police received information about a suspected man named Pramod Thakur who was sighted with a stolen motorcycle at Karonda by-pass while trying to sell the motorcycle. Taking prompt action on the information, police started a search. Witnessing the police team, suspect tried to escape from the spot but alert policemen managed to catch him.
The miscreant failed in presenting any document related to his motorcycle. During interrogation, the accused confessed that he along with his accomplice Rustam Kushwaha and Golu Yadav, a resident of Sakri village in Panagar, had stolen motorcycle from a man on Baghraji road in Kundam and sold it to Sachin Lakhera for Rs 4,500. He also disclosed to have stolen a Scooty and a motorcycle from Jalgaon near Panagar around 45 days back. On his identification, police nabbed the buyer Sachin Lakhera and Rustam Kushwaha but another accused named Golu Yadav is still at large. Police have recovered two more stolen vehicles from the accused.
On August 13, 2019, a man named Sukhchain Yadav (31), a resident of Dheemarkhera in Katni district, filed a complaint at Gohalpur police station that three unidentified boys had stolen his motorcycle. Vehicle-lifters were apprehended with active efforts of police team led by SHO Jiyaul Haq, PSI, Mahendra Jaiswal, PSI, Abha Dubey, ASI, Tekchand Sharma, Head Constables, Santosh Pandey, Mohan Kumar Tiwari, Constables, Sanjay Dixit, Sunil Dubey, Mohan Singh, Avnish Singh, Indrajeet Yadav, Sudhir Singh, Hitendra Rawat, Pawan Tiwari, Shivram Uike, Santulal Uike, Shishupal and Vimal Yadav.
