Boot Model laundry, coaching depot inaugurated in Durg

New Build On Operate Transfer (BOOT) model Laundry of Railway has been inaugurated by Divisional Railway Manager Kaushal Kishore of South East Central Railway (SECR) Raipur division in presence of Rekha Kaushal on Tuesday evening at Coaching Depot, Durg. As per official sources, the laundry will help in supplying fresh and clean linens to passenger by using high capacity machines. It will fulfill the need of additional linen as per demands in the trains.

Currently Durg was capable of supplying nearly 1,000 packets in house while rest of the supply was met from Bilaspur. With new Laundry, Durg will be able to supply nearly 4,000 packets per day. Automatic folding of linen will save time thus increase the productivity. Reduce in condemnation rate of linen due to increased and better cleaning structure.

Water used will be recycled and reused for the purpose of coach cleaning and other cleaning activities of Depot. This step of Raipur Division aims towards increasing passenger comfort, providing cleaner bed rolls, reducing passenger complaints related to linens and achieve ultimate goal of Swachhta.
