Raipur Police launch ‘Operation Thunder’

AGAINST the backdrop of recent increase in crime and incident of police personnel manhandled by women in ‘Irani Dera’, Raipur Police on Sunday launched ‘Operation Thunder’, as a part of cosmetic exercise, and carried out action against 216 trouble-mongers.

“In an exercise to streamline law and order, Raipur Police carried out action against 216 rowdies including history-sheeters, habitual offenders, criminals with history of involved in knifing cases and others. Under this campaign, the criminals were paraded on city’s streets and bound-over action against were carried out against them,” said a senior police officer. Amid onset of festive season, Raipur Police will be frequently undertaking ‘Operation Thunder’ to ensure peace as well as law and order across the city.
