3 men involved in several thefts held, booty seized

COPS succeeded in apprehending three robbers, including two accused who snatched an elderly woman’s handbag when she was heading to the railway station on September 16. With the help of CCTV footage police could trace the accused. Three apprehended accused confessed to the crime and involvement in two other loot incidents too. Cops have recovered stolen mangalsutra, Rs 1130 cash and bike used by the miscreants to target people.
 
According to information on September 16, a complaint was filed at Gohalpur police station by Deepak Makkad after his mother was targeted by bike-borne miscreants near Beoharbag. The appellant was heading towards railway station to drop his mother to board a train. In the complaint, he stated while he was on his way to railway station, passing through KGN steel 100 meters beyond Beoharbag two miscreants on a bike managed to snatch the handbag of his mother, Usha Bai Makkad. In the process of snatching the bag, the elderly woman fell on the road and sustained multiple injuries. Cops registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC against the unidentified miscreants behind the broad daylight loot. On being informed, SP Amit Singh asked to apprehend the miscreants without any delay. Carrying out investigation in the loot case, CCTV footage near the spot were obtained.
 
During examination of CCTV footage, a suspect named Mohamed Kalim was identified by Sadik Ali, Constable of Crime Branch. The suspect was rounded up by police and was brought for interrogation at Gohalpur police station. During interrogation, he revealed name of his associates Mohamed Shanawaz and Mohamed Sultan and the bike (MP 20 NN 0487) used on January 10, 2019, near Suhagi Adhartal. As the miscreants managed to snatch mangalsutra of woman and another woman was targeted on September 6 at Ekta Nagar of Kotwali police station.
 
Having obtained information about fellow associates, cops swung into action and arrested both the residents of Rajakuti. The bike used by the miscreants along with stolen mangalsutra, valuables of elderly woman and other valuables were recovered. Three accused arrested have been identified as Mohamed Kalim (19), Mohamed Shanawaz (21) and Mohamed Sultan (20) all residents of Raja Ki Kuti. Police team who solved the loot incident was headed by SHO Gohalpur Praveen Dhurvey, SI Mayank Yadav, along with Raghvendra, Mahendra Bisht, Chandrabhan Singh, Samarendra Pratap Singh from Hanumantal police station and ASI Rajesh Shukla Sadik Ali, Gyandendra Pathak and others from Crime Branch. SP Amit Singh announced a cash prize for the police team.
