MP Rakesh Singh met Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Patel and held detailed discussion over tourism development in Jabalpur 
 
Member of Parliament, Rakesh Singh met Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Patel and held detailed discussion over tourism development in Jabalpur. He also handed over letters for different works to the Union MoS. During discussion, Singh said, the city has immense possibilities for tourism development. He said, central point of the country is situated near Jabalpur. Likewise, world renowned waterfall Dhuadhar in Bhedaghat, Bargi Dam, Dumna Nature Reserve, Rani Durgawati’s tomb, Madan Mahal fort and other tourists spots are situated in the city. Besides, Bandhavgarh National Park, Pench National Park, Panna National Park are near Jabalpur.
 
He said, the city also has huge potential for wildlife tourism, eco tourism, heritage tourism, religious and adventure tourism. Similarly, world famous tourist spots like Amarkantak, Khajuraho, Pachmarhi and Chitrakoot are located near Jabalpur. The State BJP President said, Jabalpur has rail connectivity with all major cities. Besides, the city has regular flight to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Singh informed that, he had held discussion with former Tourism Minister, Dr Mahesh Sharma for including Jabalpur in wildlife circuit. He said, Dumna Nature Reserve in Jabalpur is appropriate place for Tiger Safari/Jungle Safari. He said, if Tourism Ministry includes Jabalpur in wildlife tourism circuit, it will benefit entire Mahakoshal region.
 
He said, Sangramsagar Lake, which is known as air conditioner of city, is developed on the name of Raja Sangramshah. Singh said, he has been demanding sound show based on the life of warrior Queen Rani Durgawati and the lake is appropriate place for the same. He requested MoS Patel to direct for starting the show at Sangramsagar lake. He also demanded conservation of Chaushath Yogini temple in Bhedaghat. Singh also appealed to develop Lamheta Park as Geo Park. He said, fossils of dinosaurs are still present on the hills of GCF and Sita Pahadi. He informed that, all preliminary preparations and formalities for Science Centre and Planetarium in Bhedaghat have already been completed. Besides, survey was also conducted by Director, National council of Science Museum, Kolkata. Singh said, the Union MoS has assured of all possible efforts for tourism development in Jabalpur.
