Bharatiya Janata Party Legislative Party Leader Dharamlal Kaushik while commenting on the remark made by Judicial Commission established for carrying out detailed enquiry into the Jhiram Ghati massacre, against the State Government, said it is very serious and frightening. Kaushik stated that from the comment it becomes aptly clear that the Chief Minister is showing indifference towards the people who’re killed in the dreaded Jhiram incident and their family members. He added that when the Chief Minister is showing indifference towards the leaders of his own party, what more can be expected from him on behalf of leaders from other political parties who’re martyred. Kaushik said that the one-member Judicial Commission chaired by Justice (retd) Prashant Mishra had initiated hearing on the Jhiram incident while focusing on the eight new points, which were added to the investigation by the incumbent government. However, the Commission had to reportedly make adverse comment against the State Government for not complying with the directives issued by the Commission and even commented that the State Government is not cooperative in the Jhiram investigations.

Kaushik further added that the Commission on July 27 had directed the State Government to get the new 8 points added to the investigations, to get its notification published in four national and six state-level newspapers ahead of August 16, but the State Government got it published in two newspapers only. Not only that the advocate representing State Government had requested for more time for compliance after accepting that it was fault on the part of State Government. Kaushik said that the State Government by disobeying the directives of the Commission, the State Government has proved that it is trying to deliberately delay as it has no interest in providing justice to own leaders and their families.

Kaushik further alleged that Bhupesh Baghel used to boast that he possesses all evidences in Jhiram massacre till he became the Chief Minister. But now that he’s in power he is not only running away from it but is disobeying the directives of Commission. Kaushik said that the Chief Minister should immediately table the evidences he used to boast off or a case regarding hiding evidence should be registered against him.
