City doc loses daughter, son-in-law in California boat mishap

Well-known paediatrician Dr Satish Deopujari lost his daughter and son-in-law in the boat mishap that took place in California, USA two days ago. Dr Deopujari could not be contacted but some paediatricians confirmed this sad news. Sanjeeri, daughter of Dr Satish Deopujari and son-in-law Kaustubh Nirmal were among those presumed to have died when fire tore through a scuba diving boat off the Southern California coast, trapping dozens of sleeping people below deck.
The bodies were identified by the elder sister of Sanjeeri who also stays in USA. Sanjeeri was dentist while Kaustubh was working in a finance company. DNA testing will be done and after 10 days bodies will be handed over to the family members and it will be flown to Nagpur, informed the sources. The fire broke out shortly after 3 am on Monday as the boat sat anchored in Platt’s Harbor off Santa Cruz Island.
