In a massive show of strength, Bharatiya Janata Party took out a massive rally from BJP District Head Quarters to Dantewada collectorate to file nominations for the by-elections. Ojaswi Mandavi, the BJP candidate filed her final set of nomination on the last date of filing nomination on Wednesday in the presence of BJP National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh, BJP State President Vikram Usendi, Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh and senior BJP leaders including BJP National Joint General Secretary (Organization) Saudan Singh, BJP Legislative Party Leader Dharamlal Kaushik, former Ministers Brijmohan Agrawal, Mahesh Gagda and Kedar Kashyap, former IAS O P Chaudhary, State General Secretary (Organisation) Pawan Sai, MLAs Shivratan Sharma, Kanker MP Mohan Mandavi, Subhau Kashyap, Santosh Bafna, Lacchuram Kashyap, Dhaniram Barse, Baiduram Kashyap, V Venkatesh, BJP Dantewada President Abhimanyu Soni and large numbers of senior party office-bearers and workers. Confident that the people of Dantewada former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh while addressing the rally said people of Dantewada will elect the fearless and insightful BJP candidate, said during BJP government’s tenure development of the region had taken place and this will benefit our candidate. Prior to the filing of nomination the BJP candidate and senior leaders paid obeisance at the temple of Maa Danteshwari. Thereafter, a procession was taken out from district BJP office.
 
The BJP candidate Ojaswi Mandavi filed her final set of nominations. Earlier on Monday, Mandavi had filed her first set of nomination papers. Dantewada was the only Assembly constituency, from where BJP could win in the 2018 Assembly elections in the Bastar region consisting of 7 Assembly constituencies. Keeping this in view, the BJP has thrown its full might to retain this seat. The by-election, which is being conducted after demise of Late Bheema Mandavi, is significant. The contest here is getting gradually interesting with every passing day as Sumit Karma from JCC(J), Bhimsen Mandavi from CPI, Keshav Netam from Bahujan Samaj Party, Ballu Bhawani from AAP have jumped into the fray along with independent candidate Sundaru Kunjam. After the last day of filing nominations, scrutiny of nomination forms will be done today.
 
Candidates can withdraw their names from the contest till September 7. Polling will be held on September 23 and Counting and subsequent announcement of results will be held on September 27. BJP submits list of 40 star campaigners BJP on Wednesday submitted list of 40 star campaigners who will be campaigning in favour of BJP candidate during the by-election being held in Dantewada Assembly constituency, in compliance of Explanation (2) to Section 77 of the Representation of People’s Act 1951. Among the names of star campaigners, the BJP has named Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National Working President Jagat Prakash Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B L Santosh, BJP National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh, BJP National General Secretary Saroj Pandey, BJP National General Secretary Dr Anil Jain, BJP National Joint General Secretary Saudan Singh, BJP ST Cell National President Ramvichar Netam, State President Vikram Usendi, BJP Legislative Party Leader Dharamlal Kaushik and Union MoS Renuka Singh.
