Ensure adequate arrangements for PM’s visit: Collector asks officials

Ashwin Mudgal, District Collector, held a meeting of officers of various agencies and asked them to ensure adequate arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city on September 7 (Saturday). The meeting was held at Chhatrapati Sabhagruha in District Collectorate on Thursday. Chinmay Pandit, DCP (Traffic); Shweta Khedkar, officiating DCP (SB); Shirish Pande, Deputy Collector; Ravindra Kumbhare, Deputy Collector; and other officers were present in the meeting. Mudgal asked the officials to work in closer co-ordination with each other.
 
Prime Minister will arrive in the city and will travel from Subhash Nagar to Sitabuldi Interchange station in metro train to mark inauguration of ‘Aqua Line’ route of Nagpur Metro Rail project. Later, he will e-inaugurate out patient department of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, launch National-level Pension Scheme for Traders and Shopkeepers; perform e-bhoomipujan of Nagpur-Umred and Gondkhairy-Dhapewada highway, and launch other works.
 
The District Collector took stock of preparations relating to security, repairs of roads on route to be taken by Prime Minister’s convoy, sanitation, electricity supply etc. The officers of Police Department, Maha Metro, Health Department, AIIMS, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), Food and Drugs Administration, MIHAN, Air India, Public Works Department etc attended the meeting.
