In the midst of stringent plans being devised by both the Central and State Government to eliminate Left Wing Extremism (LWE), the Maoists, who’re on the verge of being fizzled out, have started targeting security personnel and public representatives. Fresh among such threats is another letter which has come to fore off-late, wherein, Maoists have allegedly threatened Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey and a Pracharak from Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh with life. Maoists had recently killed RSS worker Daduram Koreti a month ago in Kanker.

On the backdrop of this killing, this letter which issues life threats to the Rajnandgaon MP and a RSS Pracharak, becomes serious as sources have averred that the writing of this particular letter and the language used in it, are more or less similar to the writings from the pamphlets thrown by Maoists around the body of Daduram Koreti after killing him. Sources further averred from those pamphlets and this fresh letter, it is evident that the Maoists are unhappy with the anti-Naxal operations and activities being run by Central Government and out of frustration have issued such threats.

Talking to mediapersons, MP Santosh Pandey said that he had received the letter a month back, which contained un-parliamentary language full of enmity against him and another RSS Pracharak. Since the letter has been received in the name of RSS Pracharak, the letter he had given to RSS office-bearers for further action. He further added that Maoists are perturbed with the action being taken by Central Government and out of frustration is issuing such threats. Talking to The Hitadava, Rajnandgaon SP Kamalochan Kashyap said that the police are yet to see the said letter. Until and unless the police doesn’t see and examine the said letter, he’s unable to comment upon it.
