Plastic products banned at Bhopal, Hbj Railway Station

People are being requested to avoid usage of plastic products like spoon, glass, team cup, polythene bag below 50 micron, water pouches, etc. in station premises as well as in train.
 
Vendors and shops at the station have also been asked to stop sales of products in plastic bags
 
 
Under its cleanliness and environment-friendly drive, Bhopal Railway Division, on Thursday, banned usage of plastic products at both Bhopal and Habibganj Railway Station. Under this campaign, Railways is raising awareness against plastic products among the passengers. People are being requested to avoid usage of plastic products like spoon, glass, team cup, polythene bag below 50 micron, water pouches, etc. in station premises as well as in train. Vendors and shops at the station have also been asked to stop sales of products in plastic bags.
 
Display boards, banners and pamphlets have been exhibited at both railway stations to make people aware. The Railways is celebrating Swachhata Pakhwara (cleanliness fortnight) from September 16 to 30 in which several activities will be done. During this fortnight celebration, people will be asked to keep the station and trains clean, correct usage of bio-toilet, avoiding plastic products and neat surroundings. A notification regarding ban on plastic products at both railway stations has been sent by authorities. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Railway officials said that, it is primary-level banning of the plastic products so people are being made aware and there is no penalty decided.
 
They said, after few days of making people aware, strict directions will be released for the passengers to be followed. After making people habitual of avoiding plastic product, penalty will be decided. It may be mentioned that, Bhopal Railway Division is celebrating the cleanliness fortnight every year during month of September to make people aware of cleanliness and eco-friendly environment. Last year too, there were activities like puppet show, Nukkad Natak, public announcement, inspection, etc. to raise awareness among people.
