SENSATION prevailed in forest area adjoining Bijapuri village under Kundam police station on Thursday morning when passers-by found body of a school girl. The deceased was reported missing since Tuesday after she left school at around 2 pm for home. It is speculated that the minor was first raped and then strangulated to death by some unidentified assailant as injuries have been found on her neck. Soon after the incident came to light, SP Amit Singh, ASP (Rural) Rai Singh Narvariya and others reached the spot to take stock of the situation.

According to information, sensation prevailed in the forest area adjoining Bijapuri village of Kundam on Thursday after a girl’s body was found. Police was informed. Accordingly, cops from Kundam and Khamaria police station reached the spot and carried out investigations. Cops made panchnama in presence of FSL team and sent the body for autopsy to Medical College and Hospital. At the time of panchnama, deceased was identified as Pinky Dhurvey (18), a student of class XII, a resident of Khamariya Piparia. Police have seized a mobile handset found at the spot. A case under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified assailant behind the murder. Whether the girl was raped or not it will be ascertained only after autopsy report is tabled before the investigation team. Family members of the deceased told police that on Tuesday she left for school as per routine. After school she left for home at around 2.30 pm but did not reach home.

This made the family members apprehensive who then carried out a search. Search however remained inconclusive despite the fact that the minor remained untraced. The family members filed a complaint with the police under missing person squad. On Thursday morning, when villagers in the forest area noticed a girl’s body. They alerted the police. Police informed that we have recovered a mobile hand set, parents of the deceased were asked as whether the deceased used to keep mobile set. They informed police that she did not had any mobile set. It is held that mobile found from the spot could be of the unidentified assailant involved in the murder.

It is speculated that the minor was first raped and the miscreants then to hide evidence strangulated her to death as injury marks have been found on the neck at the time of panchnama. Superintendent of Police Amit Singh who reached the spot, when contacted, said the deceased was a student of class XII. Regularly she used to go to school along with other students but on Tuesday she left for school alone and did not return till evening. We have recovered a mobile handset that does not belong to the deceased. The mobile recovered from the spot is a major clue to trace the accused. We have started with investigation and are hopeful of early breakthrough. As far as rape is concerned it will be established only after autopsy report is tabled.
