Civil Deptt holds workshop on resource mgmt

CIVIL Department organised a two-day workshop on ‘Resource management challenges for green construction’ under the joint aegis of Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology (SSIPMT) and CSVTU, Bhilai.

In his address on green building code, Dr Rahul Ralegaonkar gave important information on the subject. He also focused on options for reducing power consumption. Dr V A Mahisalkar elaborated on benefits of water harvesting
technique, alertness on use of water, stopping unlimited use of ground water etc under Sustainable Water Management.
Similarly, Dr Veidehi Dak detailed on issues related with building construction.
 
Later, the participants visited building construction site of NTPC which is built with emphasis on green construction at Nava Raipur. The visitors also got apprised of ACC bricks made from waste materials insulation reflected glass for appropriate temperature in rooms, rainwater harvesting, solar panel, fire proofing etc that are beneficial for environment. Chairman Governing Body Nishant Tripathi has expressed gratitude with
the guests.
 
Principal of SSIPMT Dr Alok Kumar Jain congratulated the HoD of Civil Department and co-ordinator Dr Manish Saklecha for the success of the workshop.
