When one visits famous Shiv temple of Bhojpur, he hardly has knowledge about Ashapuri village dotting ruins of at least twenty six ancient temples. The ‘mandap’ of one temple has withstood with the blazes of harsh time and rest of the temples has only foundation stones. Near them is a heart winning pond which add to the beauty of the historical place.

Folklore is this that pond is having confluence of seven streams. The villagers of Ashapuri says that though the site dotting ancient temples is majestic and has potential to attract crowds but in want of necessary publicity, not many people knew about it. If the desired publicity of ancient site is done among masses and basic facilities are ensured then there is no doubt that Bhojpur like rush could be seen at this site. If crowd akin to Bhojpur and even half of it starts visiting the place then local small hotels and other eateries could come up and locals income could get increased as well. ‘The Hitavada’ visited the ancient site of Ashapuri village and interacted with locals. Hari Singh Parmar (farmer) If Government does the desired publicity of ancient temples site then people would start rushing towards it and there is no doubt that it would become yet another religious tourism site.

When large number of people will visit the site then local employment will get generated, though at small level, and locals will be benefitted to large extent. Raghuveer Prasad (security guard of ancient site) Temples dates back to 10th Century. These temples are in ruins discovered almost eight years back. Hordes of people go to Bhojpur but very less people knew about this ancient site dotting ruins of almost 26 temples. If proper publicity is done and necessary development to provide basic facility to tourists is ensured then this site has potential to attract lot of tourists.

The influx of tourists will also help locals in increasing their income by opening small outlets of eateries and other things. Kapil Parmar As of now there is no proper arrangement for people going to visit ancient site having ruins of temples. If developed in proper manner and if its publicity is done in well manner then large number of people will come to know about it and footfall will increase considerably. Locals will also get benefited from the influx of visitors as they will have sip of hot tea and will purchase necessary eatables. Shopkeeper Mukesh Sisodiya The series of ruins of ancient temple is surrounded by hillocks and also dots mesmerising pond.

The temple’s built during the ancient time of Raja Bhoj attracts the attention of everyone who visits the site. But it is a matter of concern that not too many people knew how to reach the site and vice versa. Publicity of this ancient should be done so that more people comes to know about this ancient place. Surendra Yadav Apart from series of ruins of ancient temples situated on the bank of beautiful pond surrounded by hillocks, there is also one small museum where ancient statues recovered from ruins of temples have been kept. There is lot for people to see at this site. Publicity should of this ancient site should be done so that more and more people can come to see it.
