Disciplinary committee to take decision

Chief Minister Kamal Nath met party’s interim President Sonia Gandhi and submitted a report over the entire controversy involving Forest Minister Umang Singhar. The meeting between Sonia Gandhi and CM Kamal Nath lasted for half an hour. Now disciplinary committee of Congress will look into the issue. Congress sources said that CM Kamal Nath has a lengthy discussion with Sonia Gandhi and he presented a report to her over the sensational statement episode which brought sensation in the politics of State. Notably, FOREST MINISTER Umang Singhar had targeted senior party leader and ex-CM Digvijay Singh for continuous three days, levelling serious charges against him.

He had even accused him of blackmailing the state government and showing interests in sand mining, liquor and building pressure on ministers by writing letters to know about the status of his recommendations. After meeting Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi, CM Kamal Nath said that he has handed over a report to party’s interim President on statement episode. Now, on the directive of Sonia Gandhi, party’s disciplinary committee will look into the entire issue.

He even told that disciplinary committee of party will take decision over the issue. It is disciplinary committee President A K Antony to take the future course of decision on the entire issue. The air is thick in Congress that disciplinary committee may take any big step against Umang Singhar for violating the model code of conduct and speaking at public forum. In the meantime, Digvijay Singh’s supporter and Corporator Yogendra Singh Guddu put up a poster outside Congress headquarters in Bhopal and it became a point of discussion in the corridors of power. This poster carries the slogan “Ungliya Choti Pad Gayi, Nakoon Itne Bad Gaye, Kuch Jugno ke Kafile Suraj Ke Piche Pad Gaye”. This poster also carries the photo of CM Kamal Nath and Minister P C Sharma. Though this poster does not mentions the name of Forest Minister Umang Singhar but it is indirect criticism of him.
