‘The Hitavada’ Impact: BCLL tells bus drivers to refrain from mobilen Staff Reporter

Taking cognizance over the report published by ‘The Hitavada’ on ‘BCLL buses keep on jumping traffic signal’, Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL) directed all the bus drivers to not use mobile while driving.
 
 
All the bus drivers have been strictly asked to keep their mobile phone on flight mode while driving the vehicle. Officials of BCLL said that, penalty would be imposed on the driver found to be using mobile phone while driving. Even the driver would be suspended from the service.
 
 
The news was published with headline ‘BCLL buses keep on jumping traffic signal, no fear of action from traffic police’ on September 7. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Sanjay Soni, Public Relation Officer (PRO) BCLL said, “Fresh directives have been give to the drivers for not using mobile phone while driving. There is provision of Rs 1,000 penalty and in case of recurrence of the fault, driver would be suspended.”
 
 
He further informed that, three days back, complaint was also filed with the call centre that bus driver was using mobile phone while driving. He said, it is very serious fault as public transportation is a responsible work and drivers are not allowed to use phone while driving at any cost.
 
 
Besides, bus drivers have also been asked to follow the traffic rules and do not bother people at the road. They have been directed to be aware at the road and follow all guidelines.
