Bhadbhada gates opened as Upper Lake breaches

On Sunday, Full Tank Level (FTL) was achieved in Upper Lake with capacity kissing 1666.80 ft. By noon hours, Bhadbhada gates were opened. Gate number 5 and 6 were opened. BMC City Engineer (Water Works), Rakesh Nigam said that, the water level is being regularly monitored. A rise in water level in Kolans river was also witnessed and accordingly, three gates of Kaliyasot were also opened.
 
 
Alert has been issued in city asking public not to go to picnic spots near water bodies. Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials have deployed special divers team in the area. Fire Brigade team has also been put on alert to avert any unkind incidents being reported in colonies and in tourist spots. BMC Fire brigade incharge Ramshewar Neel said that, tourist spots is under continuous monitoring and also, other areas, including Boat Club, Kaliyasot, Karbala, VIP road, etc.
 
 
BMC Deputy Commissioner, Vinod Kumar Shukla has been made incharge of the disaster cell. Mata Mandir Control Room is under Assistant Commissioner Akshat Bundela. Headquarter disaster management cell Fatehgarh, control room Mata Mandir and disaster cells of zonal offices are working 24x7. Disaster control cell has been started by BMC by way of regular monitoring. A zonal-level control room has been formed. The civic body has constituted a disaster control cell with its headquarters at Fatehgarh office of fire brigade. The team has JCB machines, emergency lights, watering pump and flood lights and firemen, divers, etc. at disposal. Five trucks with additional workers are also on disposal to remove debris and road blockages in rains.
