Chilly winds have increased cold in Madhya Pradesh. Bone-biting cold is giving torrid time to people. Whether it is day or night, there is no relief from shivering cold. In comparison to night, days are colder as maximum temperatures have gone downside. Bhopal’s maximum temperature dipped to 18.5 degrees Celsius, 6 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature of city settled down at 9.4 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below normal. Jabalpur’s maximum temperature was 18.5 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees below normal. Its minimum temperature was 8.6 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below normal.
 
The situation of cold improved little bit in Gwalior. Its maximum temperature soared to 12.2 degrees Celsius, 11 degrees below normal. Its minimum temperature was 3 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below normal. Rainfall activities were witnessed in Pacharmhi, Hoshangabad and Betul respectively. Chindwara’s Sausar recorded spell of rainfall. Cold wave was experienced in some places of Gwalior and Chambal divisions and in isolated places of Sagar division.
 
The lowest minimum temperature of 1 degree Celsius was recorded in Datia. The forecast of Weather Department said that light showers and thunder activities are likely in some places of Shahdol, Jabalpur, Hoshangabad divisions and Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Raisen, Sehore, Ujjain districts respectively. Cold wave warning has been issued for a few places of Sagar, Rewa, Gwalior, Chambal divisions. Cold day to severe cold day is likely in some places of Sagar, Rewa, Shahdol, Gwalior, Chambal and Bhopal divisions respectively. Dense to thick dense fog is likely in some places of Sagar, Rewa, Shahdol, Gwalior, Chambal divisions. Acute cold has casted shadow on normal life of state. Markets are deserted after 9 pm as people prefer to remain indoors to avoid chilling cold.
