 Green Army members teamed up with JCI, Sangwari, RMC, and locals cleaning up debris from Budhatalab.

Members of Green Army of Raipur, a non-government organisation dedicated to environment conservation, has undertaken the task of Budhatalab deepening, which they started from Marwari crematory Nehru Nagar on Tuesday. Swami Vivekananda Sarovar, popularly known as Budhatalab, was long being neglected. Instead of cleaning the water body, officials even try to build a Chaupati by filling up debris on large section of the pond towards Nehru Nagar, but it was stopped by the intervention of Green Army.
 
The water body is in sorry state at present. Green Army mobilised the citizens to lend helping hands in the drive. On Tuesday morning, Green Army members teamed up with JCI, Sangwari, Raipur Municipal Corporation, and locals began the cleaning of pond. They removed the debris from a section of the pond. They also raised awareness to convince locals not to dump waste in the pond. Thereafter, members of Budhatalab Conservation Committee, local citizens, Green Army members and morning walkers put up their views on the subject of ‘Main Budhatalab Hu’ in a symposium. They all pledged to work together for conservation of 125 ponds of the city.
 
The symposium was attended by JCI Sangwari Team, Mukesh Shrivastava, Jeetu Sharma, Ashish Sharma, Sanat Dewangan, Dr Manoj Thakur, K Das Manikpuri, Narayan Prasad Dadsena, Uttam Pandey, Mohan Varlyani, Anil Verma, Shashikant Yadu, Raju Yadu, Sushma Samantrai, Sunita Chandsauriya, Kamal Agrawal, Aakash Kushwah, Hitesh Diwan, Amandeep Sharma, Hardeep Kaur, Neelam Dubey and Chandrakant Dewangan.
