Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Brijmohan Agrawal has alleged that the Congress does politics while keeping national interests at bay. He said that the Congress has become so much power hungry that they are not refraining from thrusting the country in dire situation. The senior BJP leader observed these views while addressing a seminar being held on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), in Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh, which also happens to be the home district of AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh. He said that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 has nothing to do with the citizens of India.

On the contrary it is a revolutionary and historic law and is enacted to give citizenship to minorities including Hindus, Christians, Jain, Buddhist and Sikhs subjected to religious persecution in three Islamic nations including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Coming down heavily on former AICC President Rahul Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh, Agrawal said that the ‘Congress Yuvaraaj’ is unable to comprehend whether to go near ‘Janeu’ or near ‘JNU’.

If somebody tells him to manipulate into Hindu politics, he wears Janeu and when he needs to oppose BJP, he’s seen standing with Communists in JNU. It seems he’s unable to decide upon which ideology to follow. He added that the Congress which had played a significant role in country freedom struggle, is today run by Communist forces, which is unfortunate. Commenting on AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh’s statements, Agrawal said that people of Rajgarh, which is home district, should decide whether the district gets good name or bad name because of his statements. He said that many a times Digvijay Singh had shown solidarity with terrorists which is unfortunate.

Brijmohan Agrawal while coming down heavily on Congress for misleading people on CAA, said that in deliberate intentions, the Congress is spreading rumours among Muslim brethren that this Act will snatch their citizenship and a section of Muslim brethren are believing in Congress propaganda without even examining the true facts. Agrawal cautioned the Congress that this divide and rule politics will not survive for long and eventually the truth has started coming out and people are gradually moving away from Congress. He said that after Independence, when Pakistan was carved out of India as a Muslim country, there was 23 perc ent of minority Hindu population in Pakistan.

Since the country was carved out on religious basis, the minorities were subjected to harassment and persecution by majority population. Thereafter, another new country Bangladesh came into existence as another Muslim country, where also minority population were subjected to persecution. Now that the incumbent BJP government led by PM Narendra Modi, is giving citizenship to those minorities as per the will of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, etc., why it is creating problem for some people is beyond comprehension.
