BREXIT, FINALLY_1 &n

THE long drawn political battle over Brexit has come to an end finally with the House of Commons endorsing Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s new exit plan. Thereby the way has been paved for Britain to severe its relations with the European Union (EU). This means, by the end of the month Britain will no more be the member of the European Union. The end has come after lot of political wrangling and consuming two Governments. The debate saw much political acrimony, upheaval,, social unease and uncertainty over economic consequences of the break-up of the nearly 50-year long relations with rest of the European Union. At the end losses and profits would be counted of the decision in both England and the European Union. Even within Britain there is no unanimity over profits and losses. Though the first referendum gave a clear ‘exit’ verdict subsequently there emerged divisions even among backers of the move. Again the fact that as many as 230 members opposed the exit decision in the Parliament shows there is still a large section opposed to it.
