RMC’s new Mayor, Speaker, Corporators assume charge

The newly-elected Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, Speaker Pramod Dubey and Corporators on Friday assumed charges after an oath taking ceremony. Immediately after assuming charge, Mayor Dhebar put forth a demand of Rs 500 crore for developmental projects in front of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
The programme had the presence of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as the Chief guest, Pradesh Congress Committee President Mohan Markam, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Rajya Sabha MP Chhaya Verma, and all the MLAs.
In his first speech, Mayor Aijaz Dhebar extended greetings of Chher Chhera festival and put the demand of Rs 500 crore for the developmental projects in the Capital city. His first priority will be to get first ranking in Swacch Survekshan and to free the city of water tankers. He was a Corporator, first and then a Mayor. He has much responsibility towards his ward as he has toward the City.
He told the Chief Minister that Raipur’s name widely taken with respect in the nation and the City has grabbed 5th spot in drinking water arrangements. He also pledged to work above party politics
