Over 4,000 people to witness Yuva Mahotsava beginning on January 12

Preparations are in full swing to host state level ‘Yuva Mahotsava’, beginning in the state capital on January 12.
Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Department Umesh Patel inspected the Science College Ground on Friday and reviewed the preparations of the Yuva Mahotsava. Secretary of Sports and Youth Welfare Department Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Raipur Divisional Commissioner G R Churendra, Joint Secretary of the Education Department Saurabh Kumar and other officers were present on the occasion. Minister Patel gave various instructions to the officers.
Various types of cultural events will be held during the three-day Yuva Mahotsava. Traditional dance, sports, folk song, painting, quiz, Chhattisgarhi dishes, fashion show and other competitions will be organised. Thousands of people from various parts of the State will witness the Yuva Mahotsava.
The events will be held at various venues including Science College Ground, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium, Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University auditorium.
The main stage has been erected in around 18,000 square feet at Science College Ground. Over 4,000 audiences will witness the programme at the main stage. A stage has been made at open theatre where Raut Nacha, Bastariya Nach, Bhaura and Fugdi competitions will be held.
Quiz and painting competition will be held at the Hall of Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare Department on January 12. 32 participants will participate in the event. The fashion show will be held on Chhattisgarhi culture and traditional dresses.
Kho-kho and kabaddi will be held at Pandit Ravishankar University on January 12 and 13. In men and women categories, 27 districts will participate in kho-kho and kabaddi.
Classical singing and dance competition will be held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium on January 12. 52 participants will participate in the classical singing and dance competition.
An exhibition based on the Government’s development works will be displayed at the programme venue. 195 buses been deployed to carry participants at the programme venues.
An officer of the State administrative service has been made nodal officer for two districts while DSP rank police officer has been given responsibility of security of participants from two districts.
Around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed for security of the participants. Three domes have been erected for food facility of over 7,000 participants. Media and police assistance centres will be set up at the programme venue.
