Pratap Motwani, Secretary of The Nagpur Wholesale Grain and Seeds Merchants Association, recently urged the railway authorities to develop the city’s Itwari Railway Station as terminal. He was expressing his views at the Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) held here. Gautam Benerjee, Divisional Manager, South East Central Railway, presided over the meeting while Pramod Kumar, Assistant General Manager; Himanshu Jain, Secretary to GM; Saket Rajan, Secretary to DGM; and other executives along with members of the ZRUCC. Motwani said that Itwari Railway Station is strategically location in the heart of the city where lot of business activities happen.
 
 
“It must be developed as a terminal so that the business activities could be accelerated in the larger interest of the region,” he said adding that the more trains passing through the station should be given stop. Stoppage of trains coming from Hawara must be given at Itwari station,” Motwani added. He further demanded development of west gate, improvement of facilities at the platforms, and starting new trains for pilgrims. Gautam, after patiently listening to the suggestions of Motwani, assured that railways would take the suggestion seriously make all possible attempts to implement it.
