Thousands enrol for ‘The Hitavada Twinkle Club’ membership

With their hearts filled with warmth and braving the winter chill, the children queued up outside Gorakshan Sabha premises since Sunday early morning, to enroll as members of ‘The Hitavada Twinkle Club’ for the year 2020. Thousands enrolled for ‘The Hitavada Twinkle Club’ that finds a special mention in The Limca Book of Records as the country’s largest children’s club, and had fun, gifts, prizes wearing smile on their faces and enjoying camaraderie. For the first time, the membership drive was conducted in winter.
Shivansh Darmahe was the lucky guy who enrolled as the first member of ‘The Hitavada Twinkle Club’ for the year 2020, when the membership drive started on Sunday early morning.
As has always been the case, Nagpurians continued with their love for ‘The Hitavada Twinkle Club’ despite the change. Draped in woollens with faces glowing in morning Sun and wearing a radiant smile, the children as well as their parents enthusiastically formed a serpentine queue outside Gorakshan Sabha premises, the venue for the membership drive. Shivansh Darmahe was the lucky one who enrolled as the first member of ‘The Hitavada Twinkle Club’ for the year 2020. He was all smiles and the sense of pride was writ large on his face.
As the queue moved ahead in discipline, children accompanied by their parents expressed their joy while interacting with ‘The Hitavada’ staffers. Some spoke highly about the newspaper, some about the ‘Twinkle Star’ magazine, and all of them spoke about ‘Twinkle Club’. A child even carried a placard with a request for starting a club for the parents! The membership drive was a fun-filled occasion for not only the children enrolling as members, but their younger siblings too. Some of the younger ones, still below the eligibility age of five years, seeing their elder siblings carrying loads of gifts and a booklet of vouchers with attractive offers, kept asking their parents for their membership cards too.
It was also an occasion when the emotional bonding between the children and their grandparents was on display. Apart from children, their parents too had fun. Some sang songs at the ‘Karaoke Point’. Some clicked photos of their kids at designated points including the one of Nelson Mother and Child Care Hospital, and uploaded on their social media accounts. Some kids enjoyed tasting yummy bakery products of Dinshaw’s, sharing them with the parents and siblings. Parents accompanying children also made enquiries at the stalls of Keysto Bikes and The Cheap Cycle Store about the bikes and bicycles. The attractive display of KKE Direct E-bikes also fetched enquiries. RJ Amol entertained the children with various fun-filled activities.
The children gathered around him and had moments of joy and laughter. They also danced on some of the popular numbers. Children also enjoyed clicking photographs with ‘Chhota Bheem’ and ‘Mickey Mouse’. Every member begun the new year on a happy note, carrying the goodie bags. The much sought after goodie bag had some really cool gifts.
The surprise hamper had assured gifts for all including Dinshaw’s Doughnut, Rusk Toast and Cake, Gor Kairi Pickle and ready-made mixes of Paneer Butter Masala and Veg Kolhapuri Masala from Suruchi, yummy Poppits, Ting Ring and Lemon Bhel from Haldiram’s, Bang Bang snack and Coconut Biscuit from Sunder Biscuit, WSO Turmeric Cream and Moisturiser from Vicco Laboratories, Notebooks from MKH Sancheti Public School and Junior College and S S International School, Besa, and a colourful bag from Nelson Hospital, Dhantoli.
The gift hamper also had a booklet of discount coupons from World’s Best Dry Fruits, Apna Bhandar, Sanskruti Jowar Atta, Topsy Turvy, Chokhar Dhani, Dr Harish Laddhad, CAC All-Rounder, The Watch Boutique, Sanskruti Store, Vishnuji Ki Rasoi, Tanishq, Airport Center Point Golden Harvest, The Dharampeth Mahila Multi State Co-operative Society, KKE Direct E-bikes. Many dignitaries and patrons also graced the membership drive with their presence. Amit Yenurkar, Director of M K H Sancheti Public School and Junior College and S S International School, Besa, distributed kites to children. Hitesh Kothari, Director, Cheap Cycle Stores; Dev Kanoria, Director, Sudarshan Honda; Natasha Pinto, Deputy Manager (Sales/South-West), Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India; Amardeep Sharma, Manager, Sudarshan Honda; Prashant Sonawane, Area Sales Manager, Maharashtra and Goa, Keysto Bikes; Hemant Kadu, Chief Executive Officer of Sai Point Honda; were present prominently. Many more gifts are to be grabbed by lucky draw, and all Twinkle Club members are entitled to participate in this draw. The membership drive will continue at Gorakshan Sabha premises from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Bring a duly filled form published in ‘The Hitavada’ Twinkle Star magazine or in CityLine at the venue, with a membership fees of Rs 200/- to become a part of India’s largest children’s club.
Photocopy of the form will not be accepted.
Patrons are requested to help keep the premises clean and use dustbins if needed and also park their vehicles properly to help ease traffic movement.
