In order to keep monitoring the movement of people having authorised ticket and entry of unauthorised person in the coaches around six high definition CCTV cameras would be installed in coaches 
 
Giving all-round focus on security and safety of passengers in running trains and during train stoppage at station outer, the Railway Ministry has planed to install CCTV cameras in rail coaches. The project incepted in July 2019 and in first phase all the premium trains have been equipped with the CCTV camera coverage to the passengers. In order to keep monitoring the movement of people having authorised ticket and entry of unauthorised person in the coaches around six high definition CCTV cameras would be installed in coaches.
 
In this on four entrance and exit gates and two would be installed in centre of the bogie. Keeping safety and security of passengers from different incidents like poising, theft, attacks, baggage lifting, suspicious activities of any person, staff or vendors, attendants of the coaches. These cameras would help in recording every single movement of the people while also help in maintaining cleanliness in coaches.
 
The safety and security of passengers due to entry of unauthorised person including vendors selling edibles, baggage lifting and theft incidents from the premium coaches and from reserved coaches are being made. Taking a serious not the Ministry of Railway has decided to install CCTV cameras in 7,000 coaches in first phase.
 
While in next phase another 7,000 coaches would be taken. In preliminary development in all the prime trains like Hamsafar and other private trains have been equipped with cameras. Chief Public Relation Officer of WCR Priyanka Dixit informed that taking the safety and security of passengers to next level the Ministry has taken this important decision related to safety and security of passengers. In the premium trains as well as new coaches being produced in different coach factories of Railways the inbuild CCTV cameras are introduced. At present, in all the main stations of WCR are under surveillance and strict monitoring is being made round the clock.
