Bhopal’s Riya to be awarded with PM Bal Sahitya Puruskar

After winning more than 135 awards in painting writing, speaking and many more, the all-rounder talent, Riya Jain of St Joseph Co-ed, Bhopal, will be felicitated with India’s biggest award for children, Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puruskar, by the honourable President Ramnath Kovind on January 22. After the prize ceremony, Riya Jain will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 24. She will also participate in the Republic Day Parade on January 26, along with other 25 awardees of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Sahitya Puruskar.
 
This award is given to children for their exceptional achievement in innovation, scholastic, sports, arts, culture, social, service, music or any other field which deserves recognition. Total 26 children are selected for this award, and Riya is the only person nominated for this award from the state. Riya Jain has won 8 international awards, and the prodigy has met high dignitaries from Chief Minister, Forest Minister to Governor. Ranging from painting competitions to essay writing, elocution, and Karate, Riya has outshined in every competition, be it district level competitions to International level competitions.
 
She has been the winner of International Picasso Art Contest from last three consecutive years. Black b
elt in Karate, Riya also made an innovative multipurpose umbrella, which was widely appreciated by everyone. Her voyage of painting began from Jawahar Bal Bhawan. After making her parents proud of her achievements, Riya is also making painting of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and his mother to gift him in the meeting. While talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Riya said that with the support from parents and school teachers, she was able to participate in such competitions. When asked about her future plans, she said that after completing her school education, she is planning to go for drone designing, Mechanical Engineering, or NID (National Institute of Design).
