ANDA, The Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan is launched to tackle malnutrition and anemia in the rural areas of State. Till date, the campaign has proved a boon for the pregnant woman and newborn babies. Through this campaign, the anganbadi workers were also feeding the small children who lost their mothers during birth. According to information received, Malnutrition is a challenge for the Chhattisgarh state as well as the entire country.

Taking it as a challenge, State Government had launched the campaign as the biggest fight against malnutrition. Woman and Child Welfare Department Project Officer Ajay Kumar Sahu informed that the effort taken by the anganbadi workers under this campaign had started showing its colours. He added that the anganbadi workers were working day and night for the smooth execution of campaign. A child took birth at ward-7, Utai, in 2017 and she was named as Lisa Sahu. The child was suffering with congenital heart disease and she was even less than 2 kilogram in weight. Not only this, Lisa also lost her mother during birth. But the anganbadi members met her family members, discussed with them the problem and taught them about the measures they had to take for the child.

They child was also operated in 2019 and now the girl is healthy. The anganbadi group also adopted the girl and now she is being provided ready to eat food. After two years of birth, Lisa is now above 10 kilogram and she is completely healthy child. In another incident, Jagriti Madhukar, wife of Lakhan Madhukar, gave birth to their baby Lavanya in the year 2018. Lavanya was born premature and she was only 1.2 kilogram. A local anganbadi worker used to visit Jagriti’s house every day and help her taking care of the baby. She also informed about the measures she had to take and now in the year 2019, the baby has been weight 7.7 kilogram. This could only be possible by the campaign and efforts taken by the anganbadi workers.
