Two labourers were killed while 10 others seriously injured when a Bolero pickup was dashed by a truck at Mhalgi Nagar square on Tuesday morning. The labouers were travelling in the Bolero pickup, said Sakkardhara police. The deceased were identified as Rahul Bansi Banjara (25) and Bhairulal Karulal Goud (25), both residents of Mandsour district of Madhya Pradesh.
 
A police official said that the labourers boarded in the jeep (MP-14/GB-1332) at Parsodi in Wardha district. They were going to Tajbagh area to sell plastic utensils, he said. When the Bolero was crossing Mhalgi Nagar square, a truck laden with murrum jumped traffic signal. As the Bolero jeep was in great speed, the driver attempted last minute maneuver to avoid the hit but failed. The truck hit the Bolero after which the vehicle overturned on the road. The labourers tossed out of the vehicle and sustained grievous injuries. Rahul Banjara and Bairulal Goud sustained grievous head injuries in the mishap.
 
They were rushed to the hospital where they breathed their last. The labourers were getting 200 to 300 per day after selling the utensils in the city. They were living in a rented room at Parsodi area, the police said. Injured persons are - Mohd Babu Khan, Gopal Chetan Singh, Bablu Banjara, Vinod Mangu Banjara, Jagdish Bansi Chhawda (25), Anil Jagdish Goud (25), Tejram Sabba Banjara (65), his son Jagdish Banjara (21), Narsingh Kaniram Garasha (35) and Jagdish Durga Banjara (24), all residents of Mandsour district of Madhya Pradesh. The injured persons were admitted at hospital and condition of three of them is critical, the police. Sakkardara police have arrested truck driver Shamnath Sahdeo Tikapase (50), a resident of Hiwri Nagar, and booked him under Sections 279, 304 (a) of Indian Penal Code with provisions of Motor Vehicle Act.
