Traffic chaos on road between Khamla Chowk and Jaiprakash Nagar is making life miserable for the commuters. Because of narrowing on Wardha Road, Khamla Road became an alternative to the people want to reach airport. But the work of road construction has made them difficult to approach airport faster. Since the Metro work is in progress on Wardha road since long, the road became narrow.

This has made traffic move by snail’s pace. Most of the commuters used Wardha road to reach airport. The traffic made them reach late at their destination. Because of problem on Wardha Road, Khamla road assumed importance as frequent air-travellers started using this road. Because of one part of the road is under construction, the narrow half portion remained for the use to and fro.

Khamla road is mainly known for its busy market area. Now this road construction work has added to the woes of the people of this area. One does not face the problem of traffic from Parate Sabhagruh to Gulmohar hall, because relatively there are less obstructions. From Gulmohar hall to the end of Khamla market finding way through the dense traffic makes commuters sweat. On both sides there are lot of shops, vegetable vendors, medical shop, cloth market, hardware shops that has made people difficult to park their vehicles. People park vehicles in the lanes of Pande layout or on roads too.

The traffic becomes more dense at the time of landing or departure of flights. Because people use this road to reach near Sahkarnagar Ghat and from there take the road inside airport premises to reach airport. Naturally during the flight timings the road gets full of four-wheelers. All the flow comes on Khamla road making traffic problematic. Another problem is being faced by the people of this area, it is of transformers. During Chandrashekhar Bawankule as Energy Minister, the decision of replacing old transformers by new ones was taken. The department installed new transformers but did not remove the old ones which have occupied front part of the road. These too are obstructing the traffic. Taking advantage of these transformers most of the shop-owners have moved forward encroaching the part of footpath. According to some shop-owners the work of road construction is much faster but certain things are needed to be streamlined.
