Conservation of petroleum
Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar has said that conservation of petroleum products is necessary for the safe future of generations to come. Tomar was addressing the Sanrakshan Kshamata Mahotsav organised by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association. He said that petroleum products are a valuable gift of nature. Like other sources of nature, its availability is also limited. Therefore its conservation is necessary for future generations. He said that it is difficult to imagine what life would be like without petroleum products in today’s era. Scientists from India and abroad are trying to find alternative sources of energy. They have also been successful to a large extent, but it does not appear easy to get a same alternative to petroleum products in the form of fuel. He added that that only by saving fuel can we entrust this priceless heritage to the next generation. He also administered the oath to save fuel to the people present.

The festival was celebrated simultaneously all over the country till February 15 by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association. Decision has been taken to organise awareness programme for fuel conservation.
