Protest staged against NR
demandING to roll back National Register of Citizen (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), a grand public meeting was addressed by religious heads and community leaders at Mandi Madar Tekri on Thursday. Huge gathering of Muslim community members assembled at Mandi Madar Tekri ground amidst tight security and police bandobast. Mufti-e-Azam Madhya Pradesh Hazrath Allama Maulana Dr Hamid Ahmed Siddique said, “India is our country. We have sacrificed in the war of freedom. Islam has a clear message of loving our nation.
 
For the pride, honour of the country everyone is ready to sacrifice their lives. But NRC and CAA are not acceptable as both are against the fundamental principles of the Constitution of India.” Mufti-e-Azam declared that to protest both the laws, a dharna protest and indefinite movement will be started in Jabalpur. Maulana Aamir Raza Sahab of Bareli, Hazrath Maulana Kausar Rabbani, Maulana Chand Kadri along with Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, General Secretary, Kadir Soni, Senior Congress leader, Haji Gulam Mohammed Ryen, Bhure Pehalwan, Maulana Mooien, Haji Maqbool Ahmed Rijvi, Pavez Akhtar and others also shared their views. Leaders of Muslim community have thanked Chief Minister Kamal Nath to assure the people of Madhya Pradesh that CAA and NRC will not be implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Collector Yadav, accompanied by SP Amit Singh, reached the spot and received the memorandum addressed to the President of India. Earlier, memorandum was read by MPCC General Secretary, Mohd Kadir Soni. Those present were Sadar Hamid Hasan, Sadar Ayaz Ryen, Corporator, Raju Lyke, Pappu Vasim Khan, Mohd. Shameem Guddu, Adv Jani Khan, Tahir Khan, Shafique Hieena, Haji Mohammed Salim and others.
