With continuous efforts and community support, we efficiently managed to root out polio from the country. But in order to sustain polio eradication status, as a nation we need to work on continuous vaccination with all honesty, sincerity and determination. Once again National Pulse Polio Campaign is going to conduct across the country and community support is required to register historic achievement in the campaign in Jabalpur district. As parental co-operation is strictly required to eradicate polio by vaccinating all the children under the age of 5 years against the polio virus, opined Collector Bharat Yadav.

Collector Yadav was addressing a press conference called on Friday to inform about National Pulse Polio Campaign to be conducted between January 19 and 21, 2020. Chief Medical and Health Officer, Manish Mishra was also present with his team during the conference.
 
Collector Yadav said that polio vaccination will be administered at the polio booth on the first day of campaign while the mobile team will visit door-to-door to vaccinate the left over children aged below 5 years.
 
He appealed all the parents to leave all other work and carry their children to the polio booths for vaccination.
CMHO, Dr Mishra informed that a total of 3,85,901 children aged between 0 to 5 years are targeted to administer vaccination in the district this year. The department has established 2239 booths and deployed 4478 booth workers to offer their services during the campaign. Around 124 and 200 supervisors have been deployed at urban and rural areas, respectively to keep proper monitoring on the vaccination process. Pulse polio booths have been established at all the aganwadi centers in Jabalpur, while 66 mobile teams have been constituted to vaccinate the children at far-flung and unreached areas. Similarly, 106 transit teams have been constituted to administer vaccination to the children present at bus stand, main squares and traveling through the trains. CMHO, Dr. Mishra informed that the entire city has been divided into 32 sectors with the sector officer to conduct internal assessment of the campaign.
