Time and Tide_1 &nbs

A NEW wave of development has begun in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir as rightly pronounced by Union Minister Ms. Smriti Irani as she assured opening of a textile unit in Reasi district. Setting up of a suitable textile unit will be another step in opening up of a way to livelihood for the local populace which depends largely on small business ventures and agriculture. The region has come out of the grip of militancy and now is an important point on the ambitious Jammu-Srinagar railway line. A textile unit will surely bring prosperity in the area. Ms. Irani’s announcement is among the slew of developmental measures lined up for J&K after abrogation of Article 370 in August last. The biggest hindrance of ‘Special Status’ is now out of the way and the Union Government has quickly embarked on the opportunity created for better administration, governance and proper utilisation of Central funds. By rolling out ambitious schemes and beneficial programmes, the Centre has started integration of Kashmir with the rest of the country in true sense.

PM’S MISSIVE

PRIME Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has given a greatly positive advice to students appearing for Standard X examination scheduled to commence all over the country next month. This is an opportune time for the students to get de-stressed through the wise counsel of the country’s Prime Minister. This is the third edition of the Prime Minister’s “Parisksha Pe Charcha” which serves a very useful purpose both for the students, who are all tensed up, and their parents equally so. Since the Tenth Standard examination is one of the turning points in a young person’s life both parents and their wards are under tremendous pressure to perform well because upon that performance depends their future, their future course of life, so to say. Much effort is invested into getting good marks. Failure to do so becomes frustrating for them. It is in this atmosphere that Mr. Modi, through his “Pariksha Pe Charcha,” has been seeking to motivate them, saying that failure to perform is not end of the life but a learning experience.
