Jal Mahotsav all set to start today at Hanuwantiya

The fourth ‘Jal Mahotsav’ of the State will be inaugurated on January 3, at 4 pm in Hanuwantiya in Khandwa district, near Indira Sagar Dam. Chief Minister Kamal Nath will inaugurate the mahotsav, informed Secretary, Tourism and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Faiz Ahmed Kidwai. He informed that as a part of the preparations around 104 tents for tourists have been constructed. In this month-long event, water sports as well as exciting adventure sports activities will be conducted in Hanuwantiya Water Festival. Under jet ski, boat rides, water zorbing, water parasailing, air based hot air balloon, para motors.
Along with archery, island trekking, all terrain vehicles, bird watching as well as art and handicraft workshop, kids yoga facility is available for children. Other activities include spa, meditation, paint ball games. Many cultural programmes showing cultural diversity of the State will be presented during the festival of water festival.
It is certain that the social and cultural importance of the festival will be outlined automatically. Indira Sagar Dam is the second largest man-made reservoir in Asia. A large number of islands have emerged naturally from the backwater of the dam on the Narmada river at this place. this series of islet started their entrance from Mundi. Located a few kilometers away from Hanuwantiya, this entire area is filled with back waters of the Narmada river and the surrounding forest area, forested areas.
This picturesque destination of ‘Jal Mahotsav’, the festival which will commence from January 3 will go on till February 3. However, one can enjoy a leisurely staycation at the tent city and can enjoy adventure (air, water, and land) activities like banana boat ride, water parasailing, hot air balloon ride, archery, zip line and more. Adding on to some more attractions would be food zone, craft bazaar, stargazing, island camping, yoga activities, spa, etc. These thrilling activities package provide tourists with local festival and also enjoy adventure-packed holiday at Hanuwantiya.
